A signal dilemma many scholars face is the struggle to bring their research to a wider audience. One of the most powerful, but complex, tools in that endeavor is the media. It is an ideal way to reach non-specialist audiences, but it raises many issues of its own: How do you work with news outlets? What sort of language should you use? When should you talk to a journalist? This workshop, led by UNC Charlotte’s Director of Issues Management and External Relations Buffie Stephens, will give you the foothold you need in researcher-media relations.
