About this Event
In this special collaborative event with Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Kofi Adjepong will discuss the impact that socioeconomic status has on graduate student mental health and education, as well as explore the role that graduate-level research and interdisciplinary collaboration can play in addressing social mental health determinants. Attendees will engage in an online game about the challenges of work-life balance, and discuss strategies for addressing the stigma of, and increasing access to, mental health care.
Facilitator: Kofi Adjepong - Kofi Adjepong is a doctoral intern at UNC Charlotte’s Counseling and Psychological Services, where he provides therapy, crisis support, and outreach to the campus community. He’s currently completing his PsyD at California Northstate University, where his dissertation explores Pulling Out of the Fire (POOF)—a culturally adapted Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) group designed to reduce mental health stigma among Black men.
