 iation of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) identifies transfer of care as the e
 leventh standard of anesthesia practice\, emphasizing the CRNA’s respons
 ibility to ensure continuity of care. Literature supports the use of stand
 ardized handoff tools to reduce errors\, improve patient safety\, and stre
 ngthen communication.\n\nPURPOSE\nThis quality improvement project was par
 t of a multi-center study within the Advocate Health System in Charlotte\,
  North Carolina. The study explored similarities and differences in how CR
 NAs perceive and use standardized handoff tools across facilities with var
 ying patient loads and acuity\, including a Level I trauma center\, a subu
 rban adult acute care hospital\, and several rural hospitals.\n\nMETHOD\nT
 his project took place at an adult acute care hospital. A 15-question surv
 ey evaluated CRNAs’ perspectives on standardized handoff tools\, includi
 ng usage patterns\, preferred communication methods\, and perceived barrie
 rs. The survey also asked why tools were not used and what improvements mi
 ght increase adoption.\n\nRESULTS\nCRNAs reported patient safety as the ma
 in benefit of handoff tools. Barriers included workplace culture\, time li
 mitations\, and viewing the tool as an added task.\n\nCONCLUSION\nThis pro
 ject supports using concise\, efficient handoff tools to promote consisten
 t\, standardized communication in clinical practice.
