CAGIS is an interdisciplinary research center that focuses on the use of cutting-edge Geographic Information Science (GIS) Technologies for solving complex problems with a spatial component. CAGIS possesses remarkable geospatial research capabilities for studying socio-economic and environmental systems across multiple spatial and temporal scales, such as land use, urban resilience, sustainability and complexity, remote sensing, and more! The GIS expertise of the Center, combined with access to cutting-edge computational resources, is a distinguishing feature within the Charlotte region, and therefore its activities will likely influence the adoption and use of AI for the citizens within. Wenwu Tang, Ph.D. and Yao Li, Ph.D. will bring you up to speed on some recent and upcoming activities relating to our community.
